JAJ Da Meccadon: A quick chat with one of Africa’s pioneering broadcasters

Jacob Akinyemi-Johnson, popularly known as JAJ DA MECCADON, is one of Africa’s most influential broadcasters.

He has been credited with launching the careers of many Nigerian artistes including 2face and Modenine, and is arguably your favorite Nigerian OAP’s, favorite OAP.

He is Chief Creative Officer at Silverbird Group and host of the music countdown show, “Top 7 Jams at 7 with JAJ The Mecca Don”, which airs on Rhythm 93.7 FM.

I had a quick chat with him about the evolution of music countdown shows, growing as a voiceover artist and radio presenter, and career transitions.
